Winter Color Analysis, decorate the room with your favourite palette

Are you familiar with color analysis? Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer: these are the categories into which this method identifies the palettes that best frame each person according to their colors and characteristics.

We all have colors that suit us more than others, that brighten us, but thanks to color analysis, the science of color, it is possible to identify a color palette that perfectly matches our nuances.
Color analysis is based on the theory of seasons: tone, undertone and overtone of the skin are the main indicators of which season we belong to, but eyes and hair can also help determine our undertone more accurately. The science of color can be applied to wardrobe, makeup, and even home decor.

Now that we are preparing for the arrival of snow with its pure white, it is the perfect time to find out what colors look good on Winter people and how to make your room perfectly palette.

Winter color analysis: characteristics and colors

In Color analysis, Winter is a season of bright, saturated colors, the most popular in Europe. This is because the Winter color palette is united by cold undertones and high contrast. Colors with a strong personality, such as lemon or lime yellow, strawberry red and burgundy, petrol, emerald and pine green, silver and midnight blue. In addition, optical white and black are included in the Winter palette.

Black or glacial eyes, pale skin or olive undertones, and hair that ranges from ash blond to raven, everything in the look of Winters in color analysis is encoded by a cold, often dark undertone, which is matched with high-intensity, garish, sometimes even fluorescent colors. In Europe, the "phenotype" that is recognized in the Winter color analysis is widespread and often tends to be confused with the Autumn one, because of the medium-high value that Autumn Deep and Winter Deep especially share, but the key to distinguishing them is precisely the skin undertone: Autumns, when olive, have an amber, warm undertone, while Winters have a cool undertone, more tending toward milky coffee.
Now, if after a good session in front of the mirror you have realized that you fall into the Winter season, color analysis presents you with four subgroups, each with its own palette of cool colors, to determine which Winter you are: True Winter, Winter Deep, Winter Cool, or Winter Bright.

True Winter

The palette of this subgroup is the one with the coldest colors, not a trace of warmth, and even includes optical white and black, the two great outcasts of the world of the color analysis (because they are non-colors). People who fall into this subgroup are often like Snow White: a very high contrast between skin, eyes and hair.
True Winter colors are clear, cool, and garish: blackberry, blueberry, cherry red, pastel yellow, white, black, and of course silver.
Furnishing the room with this colors is the perfect opportunity to fill it with light: white creates the impression of larger spaces and an ethereal atmosphere, soft as snow.

Winter Deep

Dark, deep eyes, as well as hair, and rosy or olive skin: the Winter Deep are often confused with the Autumn Deep, precisely because of these intense colors that distinguish them, but their high chroma, highly saturated palette is always connoted by cool undertones. This allows Deep Winters to decorate in style by also using very bright colors, such as magenta and straw yellow. Winter Deep color analysis especially highlights elegant, luxurious and sophisticated nuances, such as burgundy, teal green, midnight blue, but also a delicate ash blue.

Winter Bright

The rarest season in color analysis is Spring, and it is also one of the most difficult to recognize. But, within the Winter color analysis, Winter Bright is the subgroup that comes closest to the Spring palette, and it is just as rare!
People who correspond to this subgroup embody the contrasts of winter's cold colors: alabaster skin, dark hair, and magnetic eyes; gray, blue, or green, bright eyes are definitely the most remarkable feature of their look!
To decorate the room in Winter Bright palette, you need bright and flamboyant colors: bubble-gum pink and coral, fuchsia, butter white and optical white, but also the very modern fluorescent colors. The trick is to balance elements with bolder winter colors and shades in more subtle palettes to give the room a youthful, spirited feel.

Winter Cool

A Winter Cool decor is an exception within the Winter palette in color analysis: while remaining cold and intense colors, they have a medium contrast, so they are less garish than the rest of the Winter season. Close to the Winter Deep palette, the Winter Cool palette is cloaked in a misty veil: a faint smoky gray note that dampens the vibrancy of the Winter colors.
Those belonging to the Winter Cool subgroup have pale complexions and cool brown eyes and hair, tending to ash. This palette lends itself to a modern, shabby chic type of decor that enhances the slightly dusty character of these cold colors: lead gray, cool pink, blueberry blue, and, in general, the whole range of blues.
